Sometimes, nature creates shapes that instantly spark my imagination as an artist. In this particular gourd, I saw the silhouette of a sleeping swan - graceful, elegant and full of serenity.
An intricate, playful pattern, carefully carved into the surface, gives the natural form its distinctive character. The gourd was then finished in a refined palette of deep black and various shades of gold, adding depth, warmth and a subtle lustre to the surface.
The result is an imposing yet delicate light object that beautifully balances contrasting qualities: a striking presence and a dreamlike delicacy, dark elegance and golden warmth. When illuminated, it reveals a captivating interplay of light and shadow, bringing the graceful silhouette of the sleeping swan to life.
Dimensions: approx. 25 cm high × 40 cm long
Material: Natural gourd, intricately carved and hand-finished
Base: Cast concrete base with LED lighting
